Cusco's Aeropuerto Internacional Alejanfro Velasco Astete (CUZ) is a 20 minute taxi ride from the city centre (official airport taxis cost around S/.20 to S/.25). Although it calls itself an international airport the only direct international flights are from La Paz, Bolivia. When flying to Cusco from North Amerca, Europe or Australia you will have to fly to Lima (LIM) first and then take a domestic flight to Cusco (CUZ). There are daily flights from Cusco to Lima, Juliaca (Lake Titicaca), Arequipa & Puerto Maldonado. During the raining season there are frequently delays and cancellations especially to Puerto Maldonado. The mornings tend to have better weather with stronger winds in the afternoon. When flying into and out of Cusco it is recommended to take the earliest flights possible as later ones are more likely to be delayed or cancelled. This is even more important if you have international connections.
Flight time Lima to Cusco 1 hour 20 minutes.
